Riders Packs have gone out to Swinduro Athletes – any questions mail events@swinleybikehub.com

Welcome to Swinduro’18!!

We’re back, we’re bigger, we’re better and we hope you’re stoked to come join us for a great weekend in the forest. We’ve got four events in the mix this year with something for everyone to test themselves against – from our mini shredders to our experienced pinners.

So, what does Swinduro’18 have on offer?

  • Female Enduro – back for another go after snow stopped play in March. A 20km, 8 stage entry level event – with 150 girls entered already it’s going to be a female forest takeover! #herecomethegirls
  • Mixed Enduro – back for its third year our mixed 25km, 10 stage enduro event.
  • Mini Shredders Enduro – how come the big kids get to have all the fun? New this year – a 5km, 3 stage event for our youngest shredders.
  • Gravel – Our first “gravelduro” a 30km relaxed gravel sportive around Swinley Forest with 3 Special Timed Stages…..the question is will the timed stages be flat out burns, hill climbs or gravity assisted….or maybe all 3. Grab your drop bars, touring bikes, or XC mtb’s to take part in this event around Swinley Forest.

No matter what event you choose, the Swinduro’18 course has been designed to allow the first timers to the pinners to come, ride and enjoy the day out. The course will be challenging for all levels of skill and experience. If you are looking for an event to try riding with others, test yourself at your local riding spot or simply to close out the season then join us at Swinduro’18 – hang out with friends, make new ones and enjoy the atmosphere!

Now it wouldn’t be a proper Swinduro without a buzzing Base Camp. We will have a BBQ, some craft ales, a prosecco bar and coffees stalls providing some post race fuel alongside stalls with lots of goodies from some of the biggest names in MTB, including Fox Head Clothing, Red Bull, Dakine Clothing, Stans No Tubes, Muc Off, Goodyear Tyres and the full 2019 range of Marin Bikes.

Some of the fun activities going on in Base Camp will include:

  • Wooden pump track to test your skills on
  • Stans No Tubes providing free tubeless conversions for Swinduro event riders
  • ‘Race your mates’ dual slalom track – who can get to the bottom first?!

If you have entered and have any queries on entry please contact events@swinleybikehub.com with your booking reference!

The Spirit of Swinley “Enduro”

“Enduro mountain bike racing is designed to be the definitive test for the mountain biker, with the focus of each event on creating a great atmosphere, community, competition and adventure for the competitor, including the best riding on the best terrain accessible from the event venue. The racing platform outlines a format that allows riders to compete against each other, starting individually, on multiple special stages which are designed to challenge the rider’s technical ability and physical capacity.”

– British Enduro Mountain Bike Association – BEMBA

Swinduro’18 will cater for all abilities, ages, and racing experience – including beginners. In fact, we want to see as many first timers as possible – it is a great venue to try out the sport of Enduro. The core ethos & spirit of the event will allow riders to compete against one and another and against the clock on up to 10 carefully selected stages. Riders will challenge themselves technically, physically and mentally on the best terrain possible. Swinley Forest is not a mountain and as such the event will include pedaling – proper enduro style! Don’t forget to bring your gravity boots too – the faster you pedal, the more pinned you’ll be…its you against the clock at Swinley!

Riders Information

Swinley Forest does have rolling contours which means some pedaling – this is a loop Enduro so be ready and set for a big day out. The event will consist of a 20km – 30km loop around Swinley, and include up to 10 stages. The course will incorporate some of the best trails Swinley has to offer, alongside some secret bits unique to this event! Stages will offer riders line choice, and a series of Technical Trail Features – if you are pinning it your wheels will be airborne. If you are pinning it to your own level, there are B lines and rollers on each stage – it is a great venue to test yourself, against the trail.

Each Special Stage will have a transition before and after, clearly signed for riders to continue their adventure in Swinley. The transitions will not be timed.  The swinduro women embodies the Enduro spirit of riders committing mentally and physically against themselves, against the clock, against others, and against the course.

If you come across an injured rider, stop and assist, tell the next rider to inform the next marshal. The medical teams will attend to the incident.

Abuse of any kind towards other riders, event staff or spectators will not be tolerated and will result in a disqualification – this is riding – be happy, share the love!

Swinley Media – More Pics & Edits coming soon from the forest!
